MAPLE SYRUP STAMPEDE DETAILS
February 9th 2008, St. Joseph Island 20 KM Skating - Race start @11:05 Race Course: The classic starts at the Cross Country Ski Trails adjacent to the Jocelyn Township Office. The Classic will be one time around the trail system. The skating will have the same start/finish areas as the classic race. This is a 20km skating loppet with no tracks. The race course will be a minimum of 9 feet wide, traveling through wooded and hilly country. It will twice around a 10km loop. Feed stations with water, Gatorade, orange pieces and bananas will be located at about th 10km mark and at the finish line. $20.00 for entries postmarked before January 11, 2008 $25.00 for entries postmarked January12 – February 6, 8 2008 $35.00 for entries on February 7 – 9, 2008 *No changes in race distances after 5 p.m. February 7th *Entries limited to first 100 registrants *No refunds except as listed below Entry fees to be paid in Canadian dollars and payable to Jocelyn Recreation Committee, R.R #1, Hilton Beach, ON POR IGO. In case of race cancellation (ie. Insufficient snow), $2.00 of every entry fee will be retained for administration purposes. There will be an Awards Ceremony at the Jocelyn Township hall for the Classic Race at 11:45 a.m. and the Skating Race at 12:45 p.m. Prizes will go to the top 5 male and female finishers in each race, plus to the top 3 male and top 3 female finishers aged 13 years (as of Dec. 31/06) and under in the 7km Classic Race. There will be draw prizes for the remaining finishers. Award winners not present at the ceremony will have a prize chosen for them. Lunch: The post race lunch will be held in conjunction with the awards presentation form 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 pm. A buffet style of lunch will be available, free of charge to all race participants (pasta, salad, buns, beverages and dessert). A $5.00 fee will be charged for non-participants.
