NOD XC Dryland Midget Training Camp

The Soo Finnish Nordic Ski Club will be hosting the NOD Dryland Midget Training Camp August 20-22.

EQUIPMENT LIST

Athletes should bring:
Running shoes, running gear, classic and skate ski poles, ski boots, roller skis if you have them (if not, no worries), HELMET (A MUST!), gloves, watch, water bottles, swim suits, towels, mountain bike if possible, water guns

TENTATIVE AGENDA

Friday August 20th:

2:00 p.m. - Meet and introductions
2:15 – warm-up and easy run ( 30 – 45 minutes)
3:00 – stretching and flexibility
3:30 – snack & fluid break
3:45 – intro to ski striding and ski bounding
4:45 – games
5:30 – break for evening

Saturday August 21st:

9:00 a.m. – mountain bike drills and skills, followed by trail ride - Patti & Rusty
10:20 – fluid break
10:30 – strength circuit, including balance & agility & speed - Lisa
12:00 – lunch break at Kin Centre – lunch to be provided
1:00 – roller ski – skate session – focus on technique & drills - Lisa
2:00 – fluid & snack break
2:15 – drive up to trail head with ski striding poles, drinks and swimsuits
3:15 – trail hike with poles
5:00 – swim and play at Batchewana courtesy the Mihells, followed by bar-b-que (to be provided)

Sunday August 22nd:
9:00 a.m. – long easy run
9:45 – flexibility and stretching
10:00 – roller ski classic technique session - Lisa
11:15 – fluid and snack break
11:30 – mountain bike session - Patti & Rusty
12:30 – games
1:00 – lunch (to be provided) and pack up
2:00 - departure
