Jackrabbit Weekly News
February 2, 2001
Weekly information bulletins are posted outside at the Club House, in the STAR office and on the Lodge Bulletin Board.
Hiawatha Medals
Some of our JackRabbits placed 1st, 2nd or 3rd during the Hiawatha Invitational but were not present on Sunday to collect their medals. On Saturday we will be handing those out to the finalists. If your child placed in the top 3 please make sure you see Lynn with your child to collect their medal and congratulations.Ontario Cup Races
Here are some things to note about the Ontario Cup:
- Events will run as per Hiawatha Invitational.
- A full slate of JR age classes and events will be offered.
- Start times and distances will be the same as for Hiawatha.
- Medals will be awarded.
- All JRs will be automatically registered for Saturday's classic event
- Regular JR Time Trial #2. If parents know their child is NOT going to compete at all it would be very helpful if they let Bob Fadock know so they can be deleted from the start list in advance.
- JRs wishing to participate in Sunday's skate event MUST REGISTER OFFICIALLY BY WEDNESDAY FEB 7/2001. We need to do this due to the large number of competitors expected at this event. To avoid confusion and last minute delays we will not be accepting ANY late registrations. If your child is participating, please sign the sheet available at Saturday's lesson or contact Bob Fadock at 759-0626 or e-mail him at rfadock@soonet.ca
- Since this is a Soo Finnish sponsored event there will be no charge for the club participants.
Bon Soo Lantern Ski
The Bon Soo Lantern Ski Event is being held on Saturday Evening from dusk until Midnight. Ski along the 4 km Pinder trail system to the beautiful lights of lanterns mounted along the trail. This is a wonderful family event or a romantic one depending on your mood.STAR Trail Passes
STAR has advised us that anyone without a trail pass will not be allowed on the trail system during Saturday lessons. (There are liability issues as well as statistics being created based on numbers of trail users.) If you are a Coach, CoCoach or Parent Ski Aide who does not already have a ski pass for the trails see Lynn prior to lessons for a special access pass
