Jackrabbit Weekly News
February 16, 2001Anxious to drop off your $$$$$ for the chocolate almonds you sold? Vera will be there tomorrow at lessons to help you out. Thanks to all who helped out on this fund raiser. I must admit that although I was not too eager, chocolate almonds at $2.00 a box go very very quickly.
Leslie Uhlig will be selling Banquet tickets tomorrow. First come first serve and seating is limited so get yours soon.
Tonight Feb 16th is the Valentine's Lantern Ski. Take your special someone (s) out then enjoy refreshments in the Lodge afterwards. Vera has been busy again I understand.
And speaking of busy, last weekend's Ontario Cup was quite an event as all who were out there can attest to. Our JackRabbits put in quite a showing. We are all very proud.
It is great to have an opportunity to host events that bring in participants from other clubs. A great time was had by one and all.
If your child was in medal contention at the Hiawatha Invitationals and did not get her/his medal yet......I would like to give it to them. I still have several (and they are heavy to carry). See me following announcements.
Here is an event to challenge us all: SFNSC is running an "All the Trails & All the Loops Week/Weekend or Day" Feb 19 to 25th. It is open to all skiers & all agers. Participation and completion will earn you a certificate (Bronze - all in one week/ Silver - all in one weekend/ Gold - all in one day Feb 25th). Registration forms are available at the STAR desk for the curious and/or insane (Nicole and I are going for the weekend attempt, Carl is planning the "all in one day". A dinner will be held in the Lodge Dining Room. For more details see STAR.
We are into the home stretch as the season is winding down. But there are still some things to come: our final time trials (freestyle), the Mabel Lake Tour, Our Fun Day. Although it has been a cold season we have been fortunate that weather has cooperated to date.
See you tomorrow
