I support the Soo Finnish Nordic Ski Club as the best organization to maintain all the trails in the Hiawatha area. They have the best track record, are approachable and above board. Most importantly, they are keen to develop the sport and maximize enjoyment by skiers of all levels.
How short-sighted of the Conservation Authority (CA) to request proposals for one year – without justification and behind closed doors. It is consistent with how the CA has presented itself over more than the recent past. I believe the Conservation Authority to be self-serving and arrogant. They are not looking out for the interests of local taxpayers, skiers or the public interest. I agree with my husband who suggested our community would be best served by disbanding the CA.
