Day 1 of the Ontario Midget Championships started off with mass start freestyle races in the morning. Competitors raced in Midget Boys, Midget Girls, Mini Midget Boys and Mini Midget Girls categories and raced 3km and 2km distances. The start of the race was delayed becuase of cold temperatures. The Club Relays took place in the afternoon under sunny skies.
