Local Skiers Compete at Christmas Classic Ski Race Soo Finnish Nordic Ski Team members Andrew Barbeau and Spencer Hogan competed in the Michigan Tech Christmas Classic Ski Races on December 15th and 16th. The races were held at the Michigan Tech Nordic Training Centre located in Houghton, Michigan, in the Upper Peninsula. The 2008 US Cross Country Skiing Championships will take place at the same location later this winter. Andrew finished 2nd in his division in the 5km Freestyle event with a time of 16:41. In the 10km Freestyle event, Spencer finished 7th in his division with a time of 33:44.
In the 10km Classic event on Sunday, Spencer finished 4th in his division with a time of 35:30. Andrew finished 2nd in his division with a time of 17:36 in the 5km event. |
