Larry Tomie's Race Comments The temperature was 2 C at the start with no wind. The first section to the lake was rock hard and lightning fast with terrifying downhills. There were lots of broken poles. The lake was chopped frozen ice. Balance was the challenge during the first 18 km. The next 25 kilometres were much better but all the downhills were already rutted. The last 8 kilometres had very little snow cover and consisted of single file double-poling.
The organization and aid stations were again top notch.
