Special Olympians Capture Medals at National Winter Games The Soo's four Special Olympians returned home with cross country medals. The Canadian Championships were held at Mont Ste. Anne, Quebec. Rachelle Barbeau and Jared Macmichael secured gold medals in the 5 km race while Matt Macmichael won a gold and Brendan Peters a silver medal in the 2.5 km event. Rachelle Barbeau and Jared Macmichael won silvers in the 1 km while Matt Machmichael won a bronze medal.
