Jackrabbit Olympics

The Jackrabbit Olympics were held at Hiawatha Highlands on Saturday Feb 20th and it was a great success! The children were divided into teams representing 12 different countries. They competed in a team sprint relay. Each team had members from all levels - bunnies up to race team. The younger skiers sprinted 100m and the older skiers about 250m. We had 3 heats of 4 teams each competing. Thanks to Doug Cuddy it was set up just like an official race and the kids loved it!

Following the race, each team gathered around the podium for cookie medals and a team photo. Olympic music was pumped out through speakers by Darren Linquist and the commentator for the day was Larry Tomie. A great team-building event put on by many volunteers. Great fun had by all!
